March 10,2025:This International Women’s Day, the theme #AccelerateAction serves as a powerful reminder that while progress toward gender equality has been made, the pace must be amplified. It is time to move beyond conversations and take decisive steps toward a world where women and girls have equal opportunities to thrive. &TV’s leading ladies Smita Sable (Dhaniya) from Bheema, Geetanjali Mishra (Rajesh) from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, and Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabhi) from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai share their perspectives on the need for urgent action. Smita Sable aka Dhaniya from Bheema shares, “This year’s theme #AccelerateAction, is a crucial call for us to break down barriers faster and more collaboratively. Women’s empowerment is not just about equality it is about ensuring every woman has the freedom, resources, and opportunities to succeed. While progress has been made many women still face discrimination, and this must change. We cannot succeed as a society when half of our population is held back. It is time to invest in ourselves and each other to drive real change. On this Women’s Day, let’s commit to building a world where womanhood is recognized, valued, and celebrated.”

Smita Sable, (Dhaniya, Bheema) Womens Day

Geetanjali Mishra aka Rajesh from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan shares, “Women have continuously proven their strength as leaders, innovators, and changemakers. Yet, many still struggle for basic rights, fair wages, and equal opportunities. Real change requires us to accelerate action by educating girls, supporting women in leadership, and ensuring financial independence. My mother, a single parent, showed me the power of resilience. Because she never let societal norms define her, I stand strong today. Let’s invest in women, create equal spaces, and make gender equality a reality not just a conversation.” Shubhangi Atre aka Angoori Bhabhi from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai shares, “As a mother and a woman, I constantly think about how we can shape a better future for the next generation. Change begins at home through the values and conversations we instill. We must raise our daughters to be fearless and independent while teaching our sons to respect and uplift women. Empowerment is not just about personal success; it is about lifting others along the way. Whether it is mentoring a colleague, supporting a friend, or helping a domestic worker educate her daughter every small step counts. This Women’s Day let us not just celebrate; let us act. Together, we can accelerate progress and create a world where every woman knows her worth and potential.”

House of Makeup Launches MakeUpTheGap Campaign for Women’s Day

March, India 2025

D2C beauty brand House Of Makeup has launched Women’s Day Campaign called #MakeUpTheGap which highlights the unequal burden of household labor on women and urges society to help bridge the gap, giving women the time they deserve for self-care and well-being.

In a country where women continue to take on 10x more household responsibilities than men, House Of Makeup is stepping up this Women’s Day with a powerful message: it’s time to #MakeUpTheGap. The campaign sheds light on the disproportionate burden of unpaid domestic labor shouldered by women and calls for a shift towards a more balanced, equitable dynamic. In addition, the brand is collaborating with inspiring women from diverse fields until March 8th, showcasing their journeys on House Of Makeup’s Instagram page

#MakeupTheGap is more than just a hashtag—it’s a movement. House Of Makeup is urging society to acknowledge the invisible labor that women perform daily and to take tangible steps toward sharing responsibilities. Because when women are constantly prioritizing others, they’re left with little time for themselves—be it self-care, relaxation, or mental well-being.

“We believe that beauty isn’t just about looking good; it’s about feeling good, too,” says Harliin Sachdeva, founder at House Of Makeup. “Through #MakeUpTheGap, we’re advocating for women to reclaim time for themselves—whether that’s indulging in skincare, enjoying a moment of calm, or simply taking a well-deserved break.”

The campaign encourages people to participate by:

  • Acknowledging the disproportionate household labor gap and taking action to balance the load
  • Sharing their own self-care moments using #MakeupTheGap to inspire others
  • Encouraging conversations around gender roles and advocating for change

This Women’s Day, let’s do more than celebrate women—let’s support them. It’s time to #MakeUpTheGap and give women the time they deserve.

This Women’s Day, Campus Activewear pays tribute to the unstoppable spirit of women with a powerful film, created by women of Campus, featuring women of Campus. The video is an extension of the brand’s larger commitment to women’s empowerment, serving as an internal manifestation of the You Go, Girl! campaign, which was launched last year to inspire women to embrace confidence and move freely, without hesitation.

This internal film brings that very philosophy into the workplace—celebrating the diverse ways in which women move through life, both personally and professionally. At Campus, we believe in empowering women to take strides with confidence, whether it’s in their careers, personal lives, or society at large. World Glaucoma Week: Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital Commends Awareness with Free Check-ups

Mumbai, March 08, 2025: Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital in Mumbai has announced a campaign offering free Glaucoma consultations for residents of the city concerned about or diagnosed with glaucoma from March 5th to March 21st, in observance of World Glaucoma Week to raise awareness about early detection and treatment of glaucoma, a leading cause of blindness worldwide.

World Glaucoma Week is observed from March 10-16 annually. The theme for 2025 centers on “See the Future Clearly,” emphasizing the importance of early detection, regular eye care, and community education to prevent vision loss. Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital’s free consultation initiative will provide comprehensive eye examinations, including intraocular pressure checks, optic nerve evaluations, and visual field tests. Patients diagnosed with glaucoma will be counseled on advanced treatment options, including medications, laser therapy, and surgical interventions. Those interested in availing of the free consultations can register by contacting 9594903792.

Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions often caused by high intraocular pressure (IOP) that damages the optic nerve, which is responsible for transmitting visual information from the eye to the brain. Often, it progresses without noticeable symptoms, hence it is called the “silent thief of sight”. These conditions affect millions of people worldwide, with an estimated 80 million individuals suffering from the condition. In India, the prevalence of glaucoma is estimated to be around 12 million, with nearly 10% of cases resulting in vision loss due to late diagnosis.

The risk factors that make individuals more prone to developing glaucoma include a family history of the disease, high intraocular pressure, age over 40, diabetes, and a history of eye trauma. Regular comprehensive eye examinations are essential for early detection. Treatment options include: Eye drops to lower IOP, laser therapy, and surgery, including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS).

In a statement, Dr. Vandana Jain, Chief Strategy Officer, Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital, said that glaucoma can lead to permanent vision loss if not treated in time. Early intervention can make all the difference in managing this condition and preserving vision for a lifetime. “We are launching this free consultation initiative to ensure that individuals at risk of glaucoma have access to early diagnosis and treatment options. We urge those over 40, especially those with risk factors, to make use of the free consultation and get their eyes checked for intraocular pressure and the health of the optic nerve.”

She added that treatment options for glaucoma have advanced significantly in recent years. A newer and promising treatment method is MIGS, which offers a less invasive option with quicker recovery times compared to traditional glaucoma surgery. This procedure involves small incisions and the use of microscopic devices to reduce intraocular pressure effectively. This technique has gained popularity due to its ability to provide significant relief with fewer risks and complications.

EquiLead Secures Milestone with Landmark Report on Gender-Equitable Leadership

Delhi, March 8, 2025: EquiLead, an initiative supported by Climate Asia Inc. and Arthan Foundation, successfully launched its groundbreaking report, Unpacking Gender-Equitable Leadership in Organizations: Insights and Strategies, at an exclusive event. Senior leaders from The Rockefeller Foundation, PATH, Co-Impact, SAP, and Empower, among others, graced the event, underscoring the significance of the report’s findings.

The study, which surveyed 128 organizations in the social sector, sheds light on the current landscape of women in leadership and the systemic barriers that continue to hinder gender equity in organizational structures.

The report’s findings underscore a stark reality—while 91% of organizations claim to prioritize hiring and promoting women, only 31% have women in leadership roles, revealing a significant gap between intent and actual outcomes.

Additionally, 43% of organizations lack affirmative action policies for women and gender minorities, and 50% do not conduct any Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training. These findings point to the critical need for sustained cultural and structural change beyond hiring practices to achieve institutional reforms.

Key discussions at the event focused on the tangible barriers women face in leadership, including entrenched gender stereotypes, the absence of mentorship programs, limited representation in decision-making roles, and practical workplace challenges such as a lack of after-hours travel support.

With 38% of organizations failing to provide safe transport options for women working late hours, the conversation highlighted how policy gaps translate into workplace inequities that limit career progression for women professionals.

Speaking about the report, Satyam Vyas, founding team of Equilead, remarked, “This report is a wake-up call for organizations that aspire to be truly inclusive. The data makes it clear that hiring women is not enough—organizations must proactively dismantle the structural barriers that hold women back and integrate gender equity into every level of their decision-making.”

Further, Anchal Kakkar, founding team of Equilead, said, “This study provides a snapshot of the work still left to be done in enabling inclusive workplaces in the impact ecosystem. While policies are essential, they can go only so far if the cultural and behavioral aspects are not worked upon. All workplaces should be inclusive- it is not only the right thing to do but essential to ensure a motivated workforce.”

A crucial takeaway from the report is the indispensable role of mentorship and networking in accelerating women’s leadership journeys. Panelists emphasized that structured mentorship programs, sponsorship initiatives, and community networks are essential in creating leadership pathways that empower women to overcome visibility and influence challenges in their respective fields.

EquiLead’s study offers a roadmap for change and empowers organizations to implement it. The recommendations from the report, including expanding diversity hiring, instituting mentorship programs, enabling cross-functional leadership development, and creating safe, inclusive spaces, are all within your reach. The study underlines that progress toward gender-equitable leadership is not just a possibility but a responsibility that can be achieved with a deliberate shift in policies, training efforts, and institutional intent.

The event concluded with a roundtable discussion on actionable strategies for gender-equitable leadership, paving the way for EquiLead’s upcoming Gender Accelerator Program, which will support organizations in embedding DEI practices into their operational frameworks.
