Kolkata, July 2: The third edition of London Mahotsav 2026, widely regarded as the UK‘s largest Indian-Bengali cultural carnival, concluded on a spectacular note at the prestigious Sattavis Patidar Centre, Wembley, London, bringing together thousands of visitors, artists, entrepreneurs, authors, sportspersons and cultural enthusiasts from across the United Kingdom and beyond.More Than a Festival, A Homecoming: London Mahotsav 2026 Resonates Across the UK

Organised by Candid Communication UK, the two-day cultural extravaganza on 27th and 28th June transformed Wembley into a vibrant celebration of Bengal’s art, music, literature, theatre, fashion, business, cuisine and heritage. The festival was inaugurated by distinguished dignitaries including Cllr Amer Agha, Mayor of Brent; Cllr Yogesh Teli, Mayor of Harrow; Mrs Neela Teli, Mayoress of Harrow; Virendra Sharma, Former Member of Parliament, UK; Sayantan Das Adhikari, Founder Director, Candid Communication India & UK and Nabamita Das Adhikari, Director, Candid Communication UK. Their presence underscored the growing significance of London Mahotsav as a platform for promoting cultural exchange and community engagement between India and the United Kingdom.

One of the festival‘s biggest attractions was its stellar musical line-up featuring celebrated artistes including Shrabani Sen, Rupankar Bagchi, Poushali Banerjee, Soumitra Roy of Bhoomi, Sidhu of Cactus and Tathagata Sengupta, whose tribute to R.D. Burman received an overwhelming response from audiences. The performances created an unforgettable cultural experience, showcasing the richness and diversity of Bengal’s musical legacy.

The theatre segment emerged as another major highlight, with the much-anticipated presentation of Prothom Partha, marking the first-ever UK stage appearance together of renowned actors Kaushik Sen and Debshankar Haldar. They were joined by Arindam Sil, Anjana Basu and Raya Bhattacharya, drawing theatre lovers from across the country.

The festival also celebrated Bengal’s enduring love for football through the special session Banglar Derby, featuring legendary footballers Prasanta Banerjee, Manas Bhattacharya, Bhaskar Ganguly and Chima Okorie, moderated by veteran journalist Gautam Bhattacharya. The nostalgic discussion revisited some of the most memorable moments from Bengal’s footballing history.

Adding a unique dimension to the festival was the grand finale of Matrimaa, a distinctive beauty pageant dedicated to mothers, curated by Tuhinaa Pandey. Contestants travelled from India to participate in the international showcase, making it one of the most talked-about segments of the event.

The culinary segment proved to be a major crowd-puller as Aminia brought the authentic flavour of Kolkata Biryani to London through its specially curated Food Utsav. Visitors enjoyed Aminia’s iconic biryani and traditional delicacies, while Tangerine added to the gastronomic experience with Chef Sandeep, Chef Rohit and Chef Sujit travelling from Kolkata to present an array of specially curated culinary offerings. The gastronomic celebration was further enriched by Hindustan Sweets, while a special food conversation

featuring food influencer Indrajit Lahiri , and Aminia’s Kabir Azhar and Asher Ather drew enthusiastic participation from food lovers.

The exhibition arena showcased an impressive array of brands, entrepreneurs and enterprises from India and the UK. Visitors engaged with renowned names including Suta, B.N. Ghanty, Priyontor and several emerging businesses, highlighting the growing cultural and commercial exchange between Bengal and the United Kingdom.

The festival was organised by Candid Communication UK and powered by Jac Olivol. SBI UK joined as the UK Banking Partner, Aminia as the Food Partner and Lykstage as the Goodwill Partner. OFFER Hospital came on board as the India Charity Partner.
