Skyview by Empyrean Hosts 2nd Sama-Vaya Art Retreat Aug 22-25

New Delhi: 3rd March 2025– The culturally-rich and beautiful valley of Jammu is all set to welcome art-lovers and collectors from around the world yet again! Skyview by Empyrean, a 22-acre mountain harbour that seamlessly blends premium hospitality, adventure, nature and luxury in the Sanget-Patnitop region is gearing up to host the second edition of the interactive art-retreat ‘Sama-Vaya’ on its premises between August 22- 25.

Organised by prominent art consultant and curator Anupa Mehta and supported by crafts curator Anu Chowdhury Sorabjee, ‘Sama-Vaya’ which in Sanskrit means ‘union’, brings together acclaimed artists and craftsmen from across India to collaborate, exchange ideas and produce masterpieces inspired by their surroundings. The artists will work individually as well as in pairs to create their impressions of Jammu, the environment and of Skyview By Empyrean. All their art works will be displayed at an exhibition to be held at Skyview by Empyrean on August 25.

“The response to the premier ‘Sama-Vaya’ art retreat last year was so overwhelmingly positive that we had to come back with yet another edition to celebrate all forms of art against the beautiful backdrop of Jammu! I’m delighted to have crafts curator Anu Chowdhury Sorabjee bring in her crafts expertise this year. The talented group of artists this year come from both urban contemporary settings as well as indigenous areas. Their diverse backgrounds, skillsets and creative perspectives promise to add a punch of flavours to the retreat, making the exhibition all the more interesting. I’m looking forward to seeing the different shades of Jammu and Skyview by Empyrean interpreted through their eyes and on to their canvasses on August 25,” said Art Curator, Sama-Vaya, Anupa Mehta, who has over two decades of experience in the Indian art world.

The talented and acclaimed artists participating in the retreat this are Lado Bai (Bhil art), Kritika Joshi (Phad painting), Saroj Shyam (Gond painting) and contemporary Indian artists Rachita Dutta, Rachna Badrakia and Neha Lavingia. Two Jammu-based artists, Suman Gupta and miniature artist Sohan Singh Billawaria will also join the group to bring in the local flavour and skills.

Skyview By Empyrean Wins FICCI Excellence Award For Its World-Class Gondola

New Delhi: March 3, 2025Skyview by Empyrean, a mountain harbour that seamlessly blends adventure, luxury, nature and hospitality in Jammu’s Sanget valley, has won the 2nd FICCI Award for Excellence in Maintenance Systems for its world-class ropeway system.

The prestigious award was presented to Mr. Upen Anand – General Manager, Skyview by Empyrean today by Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of DMRC Limited, at a ceremony held at FICCI’s Federation House in New Delhi. The FICCI Awards for Excellence in Maintenance Systems recognise best-in-class maintenance practices adopted by companies that contribute to operational
efficiency and global competitiveness.

The rigorous award-selection process involved a comprehensive evaluation through a detailed questionnaire, a physical site audit, and a jury round. Skyview showcased the advanced maintenance practices implemented in the maintenance of its ropeway while addressing technical queries from industry experts.
