Smt. Charu Singh Hoists National Flag at Chaudhary Ajit Singh Centre of Excellence for Design and Fashion Technology, Baghpat

Baghpat, Aug 17: On the eve of the 80th Independence Day of India, Smt. Charu Singh Ji, Trustee, Kisan Trust, proudly hoisted the National Flag at the Chaudhary Ajit Singh Centre of Excellence for Design and Fashion Technology, Baghpat.The Independence Day programme brought together trainees, industry representatives, officials and members of the local community to celebrate the spirit of freedom, skill development and economic empowerment.

Following the flag hoisting ceremony, Smt. Charu Singh interacted with the current batch of trainees undergoing training at the Centre. She appreciated the efforts of the trainees and encouraged them to use the skills acquired through the Centre to build sustainable careers and contribute to the growth of the apparel and fashion industry.

A significant highlight of the programme was the distribution of appointment letters to girls trained at the Centre who have secured employment with M/s. Rajani Handloom, Khekra, Baghpat. The initiative reflects the Centre’s focus on linking skill development with tangible employment opportunities, particularly for women and youth in the region.

Smt. Charu Singh also distributed sewing machines to a Self-Help Group comprising successful candidates from the first batch of the Centre. The SHG has been formed with the support of the Apparel, Made-Ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council. Equipped with sewing machines and the skills acquired during their training, the group members will undertake apparel production and develop livelihood opportunities for themselves while contributing to local economic activity.

Speaking during the interaction, Smt. Charu Singh highlighted the importance of skill development in creating opportunities for young people, particularly women, and emphasized that training becomes truly meaningful when it leads to employment, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods.

The programme was attended by Dr. Yashvir Singh, Vice President, Rashtriya Lok Dal; Dr. Sanjib Roy, Director, KVIC, Meerut , Mr. Ashish Srivastava CEO AMHSSC , along with AMHSSC team members, Centre officials, trainees and other dignitaries.The Chaudhary Ajit Singh Centre of Excellence for Design and Fashion Technology, Baghpat, is envisioned as an important platform for providing industry-oriented skills in the apparel and fashion sector and connecting trained candidates with employment and entrepreneurial opportunities. The Centre’s initiatives, including industry placement and support for trainee-led self-help groups, aim to strengthen the local skill ecosystem and promote sustainable livelihoods in Baghpat and the surrounding region.

The Independence Day celebration concluded with a renewed commitment to skill, employment, entrepreneurship and women-led livelihood development, reinforcing the vision of an empowered and self-reliant India.
