March 24, 2025:Commemorating Colorectal Cancer Awareness month, Max Super Specialty Hospital, Vaishali, successfully organized an in-house support group event under the banner name of ‘Saarthi’, a heartfelt and inspiring support group event dedicated to colorectal cancer survivors. The event served as a tribute to the strength, resilience, and determination of the survivors, recognizing their journey and celebrating their indomitable spirit.
The program commenced with a warm welcome address and the traditional lamp lighting ceremony by esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Harit Chaturvedi, Chairman – Max Institute of Cancer Care, Dr. Gaurav Aggarwal – Executive Vice President & Zonal Head, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Vaishali & Lucknow, and Dr. Vivek Mangla, Senior Director – Gastrointestinal and Hepatopancreatobiliary (GI & HPB) Surgical Oncology, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Vaishali. 
The event brought together over 120 participants, including survivors, caregivers, and experts, with around 50 colorectal cancer survivors honored for their strength and resilience. This was followed by an inspiring ‘Stories of Courage and Resilience’ session, where survivors shared their journeys, highlighting the power of hope and perseverance.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Harit Chaturvedi, Chairman – Max Institute of Cancer Care, said, “Colorectal cancer awareness is crucial in reducing the disease burden. By encouraging regular screenings and promoting early diagnosis, we can significantly improve treatment outcomes. Events like ‘Saarthi’ are a testament to the power of community support, reminding patients and their families that they are not alone in this journey. It is inspiring to see the strength and determination of our survivors, proving that cancer can be fought with the right medical care, emotional resilience, and unwavering support.
In a heartwarming segment, survivors showcased their talents in the ‘Performances by Champions’ session, celebrating life beyond cancer. An insightful session on the role of nutrition in recovery was conducted, followed by ‘Sur Sangam,’ where doctors and participants came together for a soulful musical celebration.
Dr. Vivek Mangla, Senior Director – Gastrointestinal and Hepatopancreatobiliary (GI & HPB) Surgical Oncology, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Vaishali said, “Colorectal cancer is one of the most prevalent yet preventable cancers, and early detection plays a crucial role in improving survival rates.
