
Chennai, Feb 24: Mahindra World City Chennai successfully hosted the 4th edition of the MWC Marathon on Sunday, February 22, 2026, marking the much-anticipated return of its flagship running event. Organised by the MWC Runners Club in collaboration with Mahindra World City Chennai, the MWC Marathon 2026 witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 4,700 runners across age groups, further cementing its reputation as a professionally curated, world-class running event.
A key highlight of this year’s marathon was its AIMS-certified course, accredited by World Athletics, ensuring internationally recognised standards, precise distance measurement, and enhanced credibility for both competitive runners and fitness enthusiasts.
The marathon featured five race categories — 1 km, 3 km, 5 km, 10 km (timed), and the 21.097 km Half Marathon (timed) — catering to participants of varying age groups and fitness levels. The event was hosted within the integrated township of Mahindra World City Chennai and was complemented by a two-day lifestyle Expo that included bib distribution and runner engagement activities.
Comprehensive on-ground arrangements, including hydration stations, medical assistance, physiotherapy services, and structured race management systems, ensured a safe and seamless experience for all participants.
