Hyderabad 11 March: Lovely Professional University (LPU) has always been committed to building strong, supportive connections between students, parents, and faculty. Recently, the university held a series of Parents-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) across key cities in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, including Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, and Hyderabad. Thousands of parents actively participated in these events, engaging in discussions about their children’s academic progress, challenges, and overall growth.
During the meetings, parents received firsthand information about their children’s performance and well-being. LPU faculty and staff guided parents through discussions regarding the students’ classes, project activities, and individual challenges. Additionally, parents were introduced to the LPU Touch app, which offers an easy, centralized way to stay connected with the university and monitor their child’s progress. Through this app, parents can access real-time updates about academic records, project work, class activities, and other key details about their child’s education. The app proves especially useful for parents of hostel students, providing them with information about their child’s whereabouts and activities, including when a student leaves the hostel.
LPU’s PTMs stand out as a significant part of its academic culture, making it one of the few institutions in India to offer both on-campus and off-campus platforms for parents to engage. This flexibility ensures that more parents can take part in their children’s educational journey, enhancing community involvement in student development. These meetings also reflect LPU’s dedication to transparency, offering parents a detailed view of their children’s progress, both academically and personally.
Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU, stated, “At LPU, we are constantly looking for innovative ways to engage parents in their child’s educational journey. We understand how important it is for parents to stay informed and be part of their child’s development. That’s why we have introduced the LPU Touch app, which makes it easier for parents to access their child’s academic updates, track their progress, and even stay in touch with the university when needed.”
Mr. Ravi Shankar Rao, father of Ravi Akash Babu, a B.Tech CSE student, expressed, “As parents, these meetings have been extremely valuable in providing a deeper understanding of our child’s academic journey. We are more aware of children’s progress, strengths, and areas that need attention. The open discussions with the faculty were incredibly helpful in clarifying our concerns and offering guidance. Also, the app is a great tool for staying informed about academic updates and staying connected with the university, making it easier for us to track their progress and be actively involved in their educational experience.”
