Delhi, 11 March 2025  – KLK Ventures Private Limited, a leader in sustainable energy solutions, has been awarded a significant contract under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) Scheme (Component-C). This contract, sanctioned by the Jammu & Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA), involves the supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and comprehensive maintenance of Grid-Connected Solar PV Systems for the solarization of 4,000 existing individual agricultural pumps across the Union Territory.

The project, valued at INR 140 crore, aims to enhance energy access for farmers by integrating renewable energy sources into their agricultural operations. KLK Ventures will deploy solar PV systems with capacities ranging from 1 kWp to 30 kWp, along with Solar Variable Frequency Drives (SVFD) and other allied equipment. The initiative seeks to reduce farmers’ dependence on conventional power sources while promoting sustainability and cost savings in the agricultural sector.

The PM-KUSUM scheme, launched by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), is designed to empower farmers by ensuring reliable and affordable electricity through solar energy. Under this project, KLK Ventures will be responsible for end-to-end execution, including survey, installation, grid connectivity under approved mechanisms (Net/Gross Metering), performance testing, and a comprehensive five-year operation and maintenance plan.

Additionally, the project scope includes the provision of bi-directional net/gross meters, remote performance monitoring systems, civil foundation work, and necessary liaising with DISCOMs and electrical inspectors to ensure seamless implementation.

Commenting on this milestone achievement, Akshat Jain, CEO of KLK Ventures, stated: “We are honored to partner with JAKEDA in driving sustainable energy adoption in Jammu & Kashmir. This project aligns with our commitment to leveraging cutting-edge solar technology to enhance agricultural productivity while reducing carbon footprints. By integrating solar power into farming practices, we aim to not only support energy independence for farmers but also contribute to India’s renewable energy goals. KLK Ventures is dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions that ensure long-term efficiency and economic benefits for the agricultural community.”

This initiative marks a significant step in India’s transition toward clean energy and aligns with the government’s vision of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. The solarization of agricultural pumps under the PM-KUSUM scheme will not only provide economic relief to farmers but also enhance energy security and promote sustainable rural development.

KLK Ventures remains committed to advancing renewable energy solutions and looks forward to successfully executing this transformative project in collaboration with JAKEDA and other stakeholders.
