Agartala, July 22: The centuries-old Kharchi Puja, one of Tripura’s most significant religious and cultural festivals, began on Wednesday with a strong message of environmental responsibility under the theme ‘Ek Ped, Maa Ke Naam’.
The week-long festival brings together devotees, priests, and visitors from across the region to participate in traditional rituals that celebrate Tripura’s rich cultural heritage. This year, the celebrations have been aligned with the nationwide tree plantation campaign, encouraging people to contribute to environmental conservation by planting trees.
