Oct 15: Aakash Healthcare Super Speciality Hospital, Dwarka, held Cyclothon 2026 on 11 October, bringing together 700+ cyclists for a morning ride themed “Pedal for Bones. Pedal for Joints.” The event, led by Managing Director Dr Aashish Chaudhry and the hospital’s orthopaedic team, aimed to raise awareness about bone and joint health.

Participants gathered at the hospital’s gate, and the ride was flagged off at 7:00 AM. Families, fitness enthusiasts, senior citizens and cycling groups took part, followed by a Zumba session, refreshments, and medals.
The event was also held a day ahead of World Arthritis Day. A 2025 study published in the International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases estimated that over 195 million Indians, or one in six, live with arthritis-related pain. Women account for nearly two-thirds of this burden. For many, the pain is dismissed as “just part of getting older” and goes untreated for years.
Dr Aashish Chaudhry, Managing Director, Aakash Healthcare, said:
"Too many people, especially women, put up with joint pain for years before seeking help. Seeing so many families on cycles this morning shows that people want to take charge of their health. Early diagnosis and simple habits, like staying active, managing weight and eating well, can make a real difference. Our message is simple: don’t ignore your pain, and keep moving.”
Members of the orthopaedic team interacted with participants on joint care, preventive habits and when to seek medical advice. Aakash Healthcare said it will continue community programmes that promote early detection and healthier living.
