8th May, 2025, On the occasion of Earth Day, Ryan International Academy, Hinjawadi, hosted a heartwarming and thought-provoking movie screening titled “Green Lens” at Happiness Street on April 26, 2025. This unique evening brought together over 200 students, parents, and educators in a powerful celebration of environmental stewardship.

“Green Lens” is not just a film –  It is a window into the lives of young Eco-Warriors, the Ryanites, who are taking inspiring steps to protect and revive our planet. From neighbourhood plastic clean-up drives and river restorations to turning personal milestones like birthdays and New Year into green celebrations through tree plantation, the film showcased a range of initiatives that are making a tangible difference.

Some standout actions included:

  1. Non-Plastic Drives in residential areas
  2. Dam Restoration Projects with local communities
  3. Father’s Day Hiking Events promoting family-led sustainability
  4. River Clean-ups and Eco-Walks
  5. Sapling Plantation on special occasions like birthdays and New Year
  6. Ceremonial Tree Plantations marking every key school event

Capturing these stories with great finesse were the Young Journalists (YJs), whose lens brought authenticity, creativity, and inspiration to the screen. Parents were deeply moved, with many expressing newfound motivation to join the movement and support their children’s efforts.

The evening concluded with a powerful Eco-Pledge Writing Activity, where students and parents penned down personal commitments to protect the planet—transforming inspiration into action.

This initiative is a strong example of how schools can lead by example in driving environmental consciousness and community participation.
