Donation announced on Independence Day; flooring work expected to be completed in time for Teachers’ Day celebrations
Hyderabad, Aug 15: In a meaningful Independence Day gesture, Vasavi Club Budhapurnima has announced a contribution of ₹50,000 towards laying flooring at ZPHS, Boduppal, enabling more than 700 students to sit comfortably while having their breakfast and midday meals at the government school.
The initiative was announced by Telukuntla Venkat Raghuram, President, Vasavi Club Budhapurnima, in the presence of club members and the school’s Headmaster, G. Ashok Kumar, during the Club's Independence Day celebrations at the School on Saturday.
The contribution came in response to a request from the school to improve the space where students sit for their meals. The proposed flooring will benefit over 700 students and help create a cleaner, safer and more comfortable environment for them during breakfast and lunchtime.
The Club plans to commence the work at the earliest and complete it in time for September 5, when the Club and the school will jointly celebrate Teachers’ Day.
Interestingly, the contribution is being funded from the proceeds of a Tambola fundraising programme organised by Vasavi Club Budhapurnima last month, demonstrating how community participation and fellowship can be channelled into a meaningful social cause.
Proddaturi Veerabhadrudu, who led the fundraising Tambola initiative, said the proceeds were being put back into the community to address a genuine need identified by the school.
The Independence Day celebrations also saw another spontaneous gesture of support from the Club members and their families. Several members came forward to either stitch or sponsor school uniforms for around 15 economically disadvantaged students who are unable to afford them.

Education is one of the most meaningful investments we can make in the future, and we hope this small initiative will make a positive difference in the daily lives of these children, said Kuncham Krishna, Secretary, Vasavi Club Budhapurnima.
The programme was attended by Pampati Praveen, Treasurer; Kandukuri Ramesh Gupta; and Proddaturi Veerabhadrudu, along with other members and family members of Vasavi Club Budhapurnima.
