Tokyo, Sep 25: Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd.began participating as an Inventor on September 24, 2026, in Toyota Woven City, a test course for mobility developed by Toyota Motor Corporation and Woven by Toyota, Inc.
Hitachi Construction Machinery plans to begin exploring and validating the future of construction sites in Toyota Woven City. Through these activities, the company will validate new construction approaches that improve safety and productivity while reducing the environmental impact at construction sites.
Officially launched on September 25, 2025, Woven City is a living laboratory where a diverse range of companies and institutes co-create, develop and refine various technologies and services. Guided by the vision of "Ensure a prosperous land and society for the future; we contribute toward realizing a safe and sustainable society," Hitachi Construction Machinery will utilize Woven City as a living laboratory to help shape the future of construction sites. Furthermore, the company will strive to create new forms of value through co-creation with other Inventors in Woven City, which advocates the Japanese concept of "Kakezan" to generate new value by combining diverse strengths and areas of expertise.
The proof-of-concept testing will combine construction machinery and digital technologies to validate the optimization of construction operations and the enhancement of remote support utilizing sensing technologies, topographical information, and machine operational data. While leveraging its data utilization expertise cultivated through the ConSite service solution, the company will explore new construction approaches that lead to improvements in safety and productivity as well as a reduction in the environmental impact.
Hitachi Construction Machinery will apply the insights gained through its testing at Woven City in the development of future products, services, and solutions.
