Capital raised by the Indian real estate sector highest in the past 7 years: Equirus Capital
Mumbai, 23 October, 2025: Equirus Capital, a Mumbai-based full-service investment banking firm, has released a press note on recent developments in the real estate sector. According to the note, capital raising in the sector has reached a 7-year high, with the number of deals totaling 12.
Sectoral Performance
Small-cap real estate stocks have emerged as the best-performing segment since March 2021, followed by mid-cap stocks. Large-cap real estate stocks have lagged behind mid- and small-cap stocks, while REITs have been the lowest-performing equity instrument in the real estate universe.
Return Benchmarking of Real Estate Players
Over a 12-month perspective, REITs have outperformed other real estate asset classes, generating the highest returns. In contrast, large-, mid-, and small-cap real estate stocks have posted negative returns during the same period.
